Our client is a fast growing, market leading, global capital equipment manufacturer with revenue quickly approaching $200MM.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

This is a key leadership position within our client’s supply chain organization, reporting directly to the Director of Global Supply Chain. This position will require an experienced supply chain projects leader, preferably with capital equipment or custom system integration background and experience. This role will be responsible for integrating supply chain best practices and continuous improvement into our client’s new product development projects by designing the value stream required deliver quality products to market on schedule and on cost targets.

  • This role will coordinate with both marketing and engineering on development projects with internal/external manufacturing activities including: identifying, assessing, and selecting site locations, new suppliers, initiating commercial manufacturing, and monitoring and controlling critical project characteristics. This person will assist in the execution of our clients overall manufacturing strategy, with specific focus on the role of External Manufacturing and logistics for our client new product introduction objectives.

  • This role will serve as an Operations Core Team Member on new product development projects, enable effective and creative use of supplier resources in design and development activities, perform internal competence assessments and conduct Make versus Buy analysis for new and existing products.

  • This role will write, and submit request for proposals (RFP) and/or request for quotations (RFQ), and co-ordinate with key operations and supply chain team members to integrate new products into existing manufacturing strategies and key supply sources.

  • The role will receive and review bids from prospective Suppliers, make and solicit recommendations on supplier selection, and coordinate the development and negotiation of Supply and Distribution Agreements with internal/external stakeholders. This individual will conduct on-site assessments of External Manufacturers, ensuring continued adherence to our client’s standards for quality, compliance, labor, and ethical conduct.

  • This role will perform capability analyses and value-stream mapping of the supply chain and provide analytical and problem solving supply chain support for key new product introductions. This role will indirectly manage Buyer/Planners with on-time forecasting and order completion as it relates to new product introductions and support.

  • This role will represent the Global Supply Chain on new product development, product enhancement, or cost reduction teams. Drive completion of all supply chain activities required for meeting schedules and new product objectives (cost, time to market).

Position Critical to Quality + Success (CTQ+S): Technical Behavioral Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive procurement experience.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of planning and scheduling experience in manufacturing environment with products that have multiple bills of material and multiple process of production.

  • CPIM, CRP or Six Sigma certification preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes.

  • A minimum 10 years materials or manufacturing experience

  • Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred

  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in cost reduction and control.

  • Previous experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing disciplines a plus.

  • Travel – May require some domestic and international travel – approx. 25%
